I shape wool into lifelike miniature sculptures that seem to have wandered out of a storybook. Each animal has its own personality. Some are curious, some peaceful, and others mischievous.

My journey with needle felting began unexpectedly in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, when I started experimenting with wool as a casual creative activity. In 2023, an encounter with a red fox changed the direction of my work. While driving, I saw a fox carrying a rat as it ran across the road in front of my car. The encounter lasted only a few seconds, but it felt rare and precious. I wanted to preserve something of that fleeting connection with the natural world, so I began creating wildlife sculptures.

I start each sculpture with a wire armature and gradually build its form using layers of sheep wool and a felting needle. I study wildlife photographs to understand each animal’s anatomy, colouring, and movement, while also imagining a little story for every piece. That story helps me choose its pose, expression, and personality. Among my earliest animals were a hummingbird, a tiny owlet, and a fox accompanied by a butterfly. What began as a spontaneous hobby has since grown into a focused artistic practice and an ongoing exploration of the natural world.
